Privacy Policy
RulesForge operates on a 100% local-first, client-side architecture. Your project prompts, custom instructions, and generated rulebooks are processed entirely in your web browser. We do not store, view, or transmit your code or ideas to any backend database.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
Unlike cloud-hosted AI utilities, RulesForge is engineered as a local developer tool. Specifically:
- No Prompt or Code Logging: Whatever you type into the project description, build commands, architecture guidelines, or role selection is processed strictly via in-memory JavaScript in your local browser runtime.
- No Account Required: Public users do not need an account, password, or credit card to access the generator.
- No Telemetry on Generated Output: We do not track or store the text of the files you export (
CLAUDE.md,AGENTS.md,.cursorrules, etc.).
2. Local Storage and Client-Side State
To ensure a seamless user experience across browser sessions, RulesForge uses your browser's native localStorage API to persist your UI preferences and draft inputs on your own device:
rf_active_preset: Remembers your selected assistant role and strictness level.rf_cookie_consent: Stores your cookie preference so you are not repeatedly prompted.
This data remains entirely on your machine and can be cleared at any time through your browser's "Clear Site Data" or "Clear Cookies" settings.
3. Third-Party Advertising and Google AdSense
To fund the free hosting, domain, and maintenance of RulesForge, we may display advertisements served by Google and other third-party vendors:
- Google AdSense & DoubleClick Cookie: Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on RulesForge. Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve personalized or contextual ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Personalized Advertising: You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Third-Party Opt-Out: Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) / AboutAds Consumer Choice Page or Your Online Choices (EU).
- For more information on how Google uses data when you use our partner sites, please review Google’s Advertising Privacy Policy.
4. Web Server Logs & Basic Analytics
When you access our website, standard web server logs may temporarily record basic technical diagnostic data, including:
- Your IP address (anonymized where required by applicable law)
